When I am trying to get a GPS reading off a stationary device why does it appear the device is moving around erratically? How has ZOS solved for this?
Answer
Just because a device has a GPS chip does not make it consistently accurate and repetitive location poling will often render location variations. This is influenced by a number of constantly varying external and internal factors, including weather conditions, shifts in the earth's magnetic pull, moving satellites, battery fluctuations, and more. ZOS utilizes complex algorithms on the server-side to help make sense of this data, as well as some unique ways to access the chip itself.
